Pipe maker eyes two counties

MOBILE, Ala. - Officials in Mobile and Clarke counties have been courting a pipe-making plant that could become the first new business drawn to the region by the ThyssenKrupp AG steel complex. A spokesman for ThyssenKrupp Steel USA said Lakeside Steel Inc., of Welland, Ontario, contacted the steelmaker and expressed interest in possibly locating to the area.
